Evolutionary Extremes - Jenna Ballinger

Finding a evolutionary extreme was actually much harder than I expected it to be. Though after searching for a good few hours I found a few that I really think are awesome
The Northern White-Faced Owl has some pretty awesome defense mechanisms. When faced with something slightly larger than itself it spreads it wings really high to scare them off. When faced with something 75lbs or larger than itself it goes into what looks like an evil scientist pose, BUT it's actually making it self look like a tree branch to not draw attention to itself.
The Carrion Flower, also known as the Corpse Flower, smells like rotting flesh. The smell is to attract it's prey.
